Wellness writer for major news outlet says cashews high in protein & fiber

Wellness writer for major news outlet says cashews high in protein, fiber and many other nutrients...

The writer claims that cashews contain a “huge amount of protein… and more than 4 grams of fiber.” Maybe in one cup, but that is not one serving and contains a whopping 790 calories. One serving of nuts (including cashews) is 1 ounce (about 3 tablespoons). In one ounce there is less than 5 g protein, which is less than 10% of the Daily Value, so they are not a “good source” of protein. One true serving contains less than 1 gram of fiber, so they are not a good source of fiber either.

The article also implies that cashews are a good source of vitamin C, vitamin K, calcium, niacin, folate and other nutrients. They are not.

Then the author makes many health claims that lack legitimacy, while name dropping various dietitians, ostensibly for some credibility.
